George Alexander, Chief Yeoman (Ret), was the Captain’s Office Chief under the first Commanding Officer of Enterprise Captain V. P. de Poix, (who retired as a Vice Admiral).

On Sea Trials he wrote and sent our all letters for VADM Rickover including when he wired the world, “Underway on Nuclear Power”.   Chief Alexander also supervised the Print Shop.

George was also able to be close by President Kennedy during his visit April 14-15, 1962 and was on the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon when he died in Dallas.
